challenges challenges everywhere

hi all
what a busy time we are all having at allcraftz. there have been daily challenges to celebrate turning 1. if you have some time spare pop on over and have a look in the forum and gallery. even better why not become a forum member and give the challenges a go. i have popped some pics up for those who like to have a sticky beak. i have to give credit to the fabo krissy as the penguin cards, happy birthday card and 9 card are all copied from her. it was part of one of the challenges girls so i did have her blessings to do so.

i have only managed a few so far but i have until sunday midnight to get them all done. well actually i will have to have them done by thurs at the latest as we are heading away for the weekend woo hoo. i can not wait. look out beach here we come well here comes the kids you will not catch me in swimmers on a public beach lol.

the kids are all doing well at the mo which is lovely. i was fairly over the sickness in this house. ray is on call this week so it looks like i will be a single parent until friday morning. i just hope he gets some time to rest before we go away.

catch up

hi all
this is just a quick post to say gday and let you know what has been happening in the house of marnie.

grace is unwell and has been now for two days. the doctors at emergency thought it could be one of two things her appendix could be one option. if she is no better when she wakes up i am booking her into our gp.

anthony had a great time out scouts on tuesday and walked out of the hall with 3 badges, they were cooking, gardening and citizenship. he was so proud of himself it was fantastic and yes i got photos lol.

it is rays birthday today so i will be making a cake sometime today then again i might just go to the cake shop and buy one. he is the big 39 and thinks he is old and dying. gee it must be nice to have nothing else in the world to worry about but your wrinkles and age. lol.

the boys have been creating havoc with all the rain we have had. i hope to do some washing today and keep them away from grace. oh well til later

crop for a cure

hi all

as the title suggests i went to a crop for a cure event on saturday and all i can say was what a great day it was. Vicki Whitson organised it all and the day went without a hitch. there was prizes galore, raffles, auctions, food, shopping and just general fun. all up there were about 30 women and between us all we raised an amazing $1500. which is just awesome. Vicki if you read this i just want to say thankyou for the wonderful day and all the effort you put in making sure we all had a great time. I wish you all the best with your upcoming battles and know that with your family and friends you will be fine. all my love to you.

i would also like to thank the wonderful bunch of ladies i sat with. Kellie - you never cease to make me laugh. Claire - you make kellie behave herself, bronwen - you inspire me no end, pauline - you are such a beautiful soul, maryanne - your smile brightens the room last but not least to my daughter grace who joined me thankyou for helping me set up and for being such a thoughtful and delightful daughter and friend.ok i am all over the mushy crap lol. i will upload some layouts really soon.

tummy bug 1 marnie 0

hi all
well as the title suggests i have been hit by the tummy bug and my god it has hit hard. lol. i have now been sick for 3 days and i am well and truly over it. i can handle the running to the loo all the time but the cramps are unbearable. bloody bug i pray is doesnt hit the boys as then the crap will truly hit the fan lol.

anthony went bushwalking yesterday with the scouts and had a ball. he is nearly finished his citizen badge and also he has cooked a cake to help complete his cooking badge. i am really proud of this little guy. he has planted stuff in the garden to get his gardening badge and i am happy to announce that they are starting to poke their little heads up out of the ground. anthony of course isnt happy with just the acheivement badges he has aimed high and is after his grey wolf badge lol. this is the badge that only gets handed out every now and then and is really tricky to get. i think he is going to get it too with the way his is going. i think it is really good for him too as ray is getting involved a bit and helping him with different aspects of the badges. this photo is the one i took with all the leaders after he got his induction badges. the smile on his face says it all. god love him.

CAPERS

hi all

we had a really busy week last week with grace being in capers. Capers is the big school spectactular that is held every two years in the new england area. i will say that the show does not dissappoint at all. mum came with me and we had a ball. grace was in the choir and boy did they do well. they all wore different coloured ponchos and each had a white poncho as well. everytime they did a song they changed the ponchos around so they looked different every time. i never knew you could tie a piece of material in different ways. grace was so funny. she wanted to wear a blue poncho and the
other colours made her head fat on the big screen. mum and i couldnt stop laughing when she was given the green. the other pic is off the jemma (graces best friend) with ethan (graces boyfriend) and grace. the three of them are nuts.

i mentioned a while ago now that i had completed a double layout for a circle journal that i participated in. well i have finally taken some pics to show. i have been so slack havent i. the theme was b is for....... so i did b is for beautiful and i based it around the flowers in my garden that have been blooming so nicely at the moment.

would you believe i went to a crop day the other day and did practically nothing. i managed to start to do 2 cards and then cleaned out my scrap box and then sat and chatted. i had to leave early to get grace and get organised for capers so it all just flew by. there is another one this weekend to raise money for cancer so i will hopefully be going to it to open up the hall and help out where i can.

my sister is back in town

hi all
ok i have a confession it is really rays sister. i am an only child so i am over the moon about irene being back in town. we are only a few months different in age and her little girl sarah is the same age as ashley so i am sure they will become really good friends. irene has been livin in horsham so having her move back to tamworth is just fantastic.
the boys and i have cleaned the house and cooked a cake and are now just awaiting the arrival of sarah for a playdate. woo hoo this is going to be fun.

not much has been happening as far as scrapping. i am hoping to get some pics of anthony joining scouts done but i just need to find the motivation oh and spare time to do them.
the beautiful robyn sent me some sculpey clay to play with so with the purple the talented del sent me i now have blue red and purple. i dont have a clue what to do with it but hey i will have fun playing wont i. if anyone has any ideas please leave a comment and help me lol.

there have been reports of a really big 8ft brown around again. gee i love snakes NOT. a friend was driving past our place and it was on the road and reared up to strike at her car. so this thing is not friendly at all or just stupid as she was doing about 100km/hr. i really dont want to find out and i just hope it has travelled past and gone. ray has told me where the rake is but i will be buggered if i am going to try and kill it lol. i will be the one running and screaming like a nancy girl with two kids under my arms. well have a great day everyone.

cheers

back in the swing of things

hi all
i have broken yet another scrapping drought thanks to the wonderful team at allcraftz. they have just had a great cc with the theme food glorious food. what can i say i couldnt go wrong with a theme like that. i am so proud of myself as i managed to get all four challenges done and still have a bit of spare time. woo hoo.

the first challenge was to make a card in the shape of a peice of food. well i had to put my thinking cap on for this one and i ended up with a strawberry. you also had to have texture on it so i used a glitter paint as the little seeds.

the second was an otp that the talented krissy thought up. we had to make a recipe book out of a notepad. i of course couldnt find a spare notebook but i was lucky enough to have a maya road binder book handy so i used it instead.

third was a lo of your most memorable meal. the catch was though it had to be one that you didnt cook. now if you are like me that is a rarity in itself lol. i found an old menu from the place where ray took me on our first real date. we spent the whole night laughing as when we openned the front door a three legged cat was hobbling around and being fed.
the fourth was a fantastic sketch by the brillant megan. you had to base it on your fav food. well i am a coffee addict so that wasnt too hard to do lol. i loved the sketch it was simple yet filled the page lovely.
