Simple pleasures

hi all
things are busy here as normal. kids need constant chasing and the calf and chooks need feeding plus then there is the running of kids to dance and scouts. dinner is on the stove and i think i am nearly organised. lol. there is a first time for everything. i would love to be able to sit down and scrap but i just cant get there lately. i have so much i need to do and no time to do it in. when i do get a break all i can do is sleep. i might have to start doing midnight shifts to get through it all lol. our really good friends had a baby boy the other week. Welcome to the world little luke mathew jones. i love babies and i am the sort who gets clucky really really easily. i definately dont want anymore though pmsl.
i am starting to get really excited about going to foster with the kids. we have cashed in our money boxes and ended up with over $700. woo hoo. that should cover the motel, food, and petrol for 2 cars plus a few specials. it is amazing how quickly it all adds up isnt it.

hi all

hi all
i am still breathing and doing well. the kids have been really wild lately and we have been flat out here with different projects.

we have two new members to the didlick family. one is a bantam rooster named GEORGE after curious george and the other is a calf named sunday roast in honour of nic and keiths sunday rose lol. my hands are so sore from trying to feed the little sucker. she is a big girl and i am not sure what breed she is just yet. i end up with more milk on me then what goes down her gut i think lol. we are going to feed her up and then maybe have her for dinner (the kids are not impressed). we are getting a couple more soon so we have been trying to fix the fences etc so that they will be safe and not out on the road.

Anthony has joined the scouts and i must say there has been a big difference in him. he loves it. i only have to threaten that he will miss a meeting and he is off and cleaning his room etc. he talks non stop after a meeting which is different for him. he is a quiet kid and this has definately openned up his voice lol. He had a little excursion with the scouts yesterday at the river and they found all sorts of different types of bugs etc to identify and play with. Anthony was so proud too that he was the only one to take a first aid kit with him and there for is half way to getting his first badge. he was beaming from ear to ear. at his big induction i cried a little bit like a big wuss as i knew grandma would have been so proud of him as he pledged his allegence to god and the queen. it was a beautiful thing to watch. i tear up now just thinking about it.

i have been having a few rough days here at the mo. i miss ma so badly at times. i think it has just hit me really that she is gone and that hurts. i know this will pass but gee i cry at the drop of a hat and just feel blah all the time. i know she is looking down on us and is protecting us all. we are going to foster in a few weeks for a couple of nights which will be fun.. ma used to go across with my mother and the two older kids and stay in an apartment with my aunt beth and uncle peter (also from here).so this year we thought we would all go over and spend a few really good days as a family and remember ma. we are doing this instead of buying chrissy presents for each other so i am really looking forward to it.

i am still here

hi all

it seems like forever since i last came in here and blurted out what i have been up to. life is still flat out. i have hardly touched my scrapbooking which is really having a toll on me. i have been really emotional lately and i am not 100% sure why? i know i have been really tired lately but that is what happens when you try to fit in fishing a couple of nights a week with running around on weekends plus dance and scouts and then housework and kids and then ray. We have been fixing the front garden at the moment and it is starting to look really lovely. we have a heap of irises that were rays nans in full flower which look stunning. i have been trying to look the names up for them all but gee there are so many different types. i have taken a couple of pics so i might see if i can show some of the more beautiful ones. my vegie patch is starting to really kick ass too. we are able to eat some lovely beetroot, snow peas, broad beans and leafy greens now. the potatoes are coming on strong now and i cant wait until we are able to dig them up and eat them. did i mention i love spuds. i also have some spaghetti squash, jap pumpkins, cucumbers, corn and mixed squash growing well. we should have plenty here soon which will be great for saving a little bit of money.

have i also told you we are getting a calf. the kids are so excited about it. it will be really little when we pick it up this saturday and i will have to bucket feed it twice a day for a few weeks. it will be just like having a baby again with the sterilizing and formula making. i am more excited that the kids get to help to it and learn about it all. so with all my veges and then a whole calf we are going to be well fed soon lol.

BUSY days

Hi all
gee where does the time go. it seems i get up and then i am back in bed again before i blink. Grace went away for the week and i have still been flat out. I have had alot of visitors turn up which has taken up some time plus the two little ones have been very very busy and i cant let them out side by themselves with the snakes around so if they go out i go out. I have had anthony at scouts, two appointments at doctors for the kids. I havent scrapped a thing and i am afraid to admit it but i have an order from allcraftz that i just havent opened. The house looks like a complete mess and i just cant get on top of it.

Grace turns 11 tomorrow so we went ten pin bowling today with the whole family and ethan graces boyfriend. We had a great time but there goes another 1/2 a day. Grace has her own digital camera now so she can take her own pics and scrap them instead of using mine. Mum gave her some really cool bonds undies, Beth and Pete gave her a necklace that was stunning and hanging on it was a ring that Beth had brought for ma. (my nan) It had us all in tears. We are such big sooks arent we lol. Anyway ethan is here now and the kids are crying like normal.

i have done it

hi all

I have done it. I have broken the drought and scrapped a layout. i know shocking isnt it. It is pouring here so i thought i might get in and finish off my chinese whispers layout that i have been trying to get to for a week now. i have even taken a pic ready to upload. scarey isnt it lol.
I had to take two elements of the beautiful layout created by hannah so i decided to go with the multiply photos and
i used thickers (which are like stickers but thicker lol).
i love this idea of using someone elses layout to get ideas and creating a layout from it. It really helps when the mojo is at a low which mine seems to be at lately. there is a album in the allcraftz gallery called chinese whispers which you can all look up if you wish which shows everyones entries.

my girl is gone

hi all
now dont stress nothing bad has happened to grace. At 7am this morning though she hopped on the bus to point wolstonecroft for the week. i am so lonely with out her here. i had to go and collect the salad from the vege patch all buy my self and then set the table all by my self and then i had to get ray to help me wash and wipe up. my little helper is gone for the week what am i going to do with myself. i am getting a bit excited though as when she comes home it will be close to her 11th birthday. we are going bowling on sunday with her boyfriend ethan, and then on the monday we will just have a cake and some party food here at home. she is going to be so wrapped in what we got her for her day. grace has no idea either as i sent my friend to buy it lol.

anthony has had a really tiring day at school. poor little bugger was worn out by the time he got home. i spose though he has to be at the bus stop at 8am and then he doesnt get home until 4.15pm. it is a long day. anthony is such a gentle soul.

OMG another snake

hi all
what an adventure we have had. we had the scare yesterday with the brown snake and today we have just had another. this one was a baby though at around 90cm long. it was fat though for the small size of it. ray got rid of it though thank goodness so now we have to keep an eye on the cat as she might have been bitten. i dont know what it is but my skin crawls when i think about those little buggers. eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww. i will have to be extra careful now with the little ones. that is my biggest fear. oh i am starting to have panic attacks already. lol

MSN hooked

Hi all
my hands ache and my back is killing me from sitting for so long but i am hooked. I have messenger now and i have been talking up a storm with del and marcy. These two ladies crack me up so much. I love too how it is one on one and you can get to know someone so much better. Graces boyfriend ethan talks to her on it too and so does my mother.

We have had a busy day today doing the groceries and just trying to get grace organised. I am a bit over this excursion thing. i think though it is more that i am loosing my friend for a week. i am going to be lost with out her here to help me out against the boys.

Snake alert today too. Carol from next door called out today as we were going to have a picnic lunch for thomas's birthday (yes my baby boy is 3) well carol had just caught sight of a 6 ft brown snake leaving her place and going through the fence into our. my god i am going to poop myself if i happen to come across it. lol

am i getting old or is it that time is just going by so much quicker. I shed a little tear today as we cut thomas's birthday cake. my baby is growing up too quickly. he is such a little boy and it is breaking my heart. No i dont want anymore but why do they change so fast. i just want him to slow down and let me enjoy him like this for a bit longer.

Graces birthday is next week so my girl becomes 11 and i am going to have to chain her down too. she is so tall and skinny and beautiful. i have told ray to load up the shotgun as i think we are going to need it.

my god it is early

hi all
it is still dark here and i am wide awake. poor ray was so tired last night that he is snoring up a storm. i just couldnt stay in there any longer. i have laid on the lounge for the last hour but i just can not go back to sleep. my eyes are sore and i forgot to grab my glasses so i am typing blind here lol. the garden is starting to really come along out the front we have so much more to do though. it is just such a big job. you seem to get rid of one lot of weeds and you turn around and find 50 more.
grace and i are heading off to the op shops in a few hours lol to find some shorts and jeans to wear to point wolstencroft (sp). i was told the south tamworth vinnies have some great stuff so we thought we would pop over for a bit of a squiz. graces problem is she is so tall yet so skinny. at the age of nearly 11 she is still only about a size 6. she obviously got her build from her fathers side of the family.
anthony is in the poo again. the silly little boy a couple of weeks ago stole some money ($140 ) and took it to school. $20 was swapped for a peice of cake, $20 was spent at the canteen, and $100 was found by the teacher thank goodness. well it seems he didnt learn his lesson and we found another $100 hidden in his bedroom. i just dont konw what to do. any ideas would be great.
ashley and thomas are like usual wild. ashley has the most amazing sence of homour outl .he cracks up at anything and then of course that sets me off giggling. thomas is starting to make up his own little jokes which is really cute. they both want to help with everything and be right in the middle of it all but gee sometimes it would be lovely if they could just sit and relax and let me just get on with stuff. i think the two of them are going to be a bit lost when ashley starts preschool next year.

back breaking

hi all
more gardening today is on the agenda but hopefully it will be a bit more gentle on my aging unfit body. I have woken up today so sore and stiff but it is all good. we managed to extend out two vege beds by 1.5 msq so i now have some extra room to plant some lettuce, beetroot, carrots, spinach, radishes, onion, shallots, leeks and whatever else takes my fancy. it is going to be unreal. the kids love it and get right into it with us which is fantastic. i am hoping that by them joining in they will learn to love their veges even more. i am lucky though as my kids eat pretty much anything so there is hardly any left overs.

BIG news too is that our beloved little cutie (last surviving chook) is now laying eggs. we have gotten 5 eggs in the last 4 days. it is amazing. we are so excited. i know that there will not be enough for sponge cakes etc but it is handy to have them when i ran out the other night and was breadcrumbing chicken fillets. they are the richest yellow yolks i have ever seen. just lovely colour.

winners are grinners at allcraftz

Hi all
ebony has announced the winners over at allcraftz for the WCMD. I was lucky enough to win a prize or two. ebony would have to be one of the most generous people i have had the pleasure of knowing. The gallery is outstanding over there and i feel very honoured to be picked. I dont know how anyone could of chosen winners with all of them talented ladies entering. Thanks to all those ladies as with out them it wouldnt be any fun at all. You ladies inspire me daily and i would be lost with out you.

Gardening is on the agenda today again. We are doing out the but on the outside of the fence. i know it sounds a bit weird but the idea is to try and stop the weeds rabbits and snaked coming in from the front paddock. the bloomin weeds come up through the fence and set seed which of course fall into the garden and come up as weeds next spring. it is a massive job but the kids have been great in helping ray and i. we just need to somehow not get bitten by greenants and it would be sweet. I also need to get some more seeds in my vege patch. we are going to run out of beetroot if we keep eating like we do. Poor ray hasnt really had a holiday. i have a list of things that need doing as long as my arm and i keep pushing him along. i spose though the first week he didnt do too much so i should crack that housewife whip a bit more this week lol.

grace is so looking forward to going back to school next week as she is heading off to point wolstencroft(i dont know if i spelt that right. my girl will be away for a whole week. i just dont know what i will do with myself. i am going to be surrounded by boys. her bag is practically packed and ready to go. i just need to buy a couple of pairs of 3/4shorts for her to wear and all will be sweet.

busy busy busy

Hi all
well yet another day has gone and i am none the wiser with what i did with my time lol

Grace had a birthday party for a friend of hers today in the park. It was lovely sitting in the shade as there was a little breeze it was a shame to have to pack up and come home . We actually arrived an hour late due to day light savings. how embarrassing. lol

I have managed to catch up a little bit with some scrapping. I stamped out 30+ images for a swap and then made 10 cards for another. i still have to pull my finger out and do the challenges for the wcmd at allcraftz.

Did everyone get a special with ebonys sales. Gee that woman knows how to throw a party lol. I picked up some great stamps for like half price. I love the bargains....... i think if i was to sell all my stash i would have enough to feed a third world country .

WCMD

HI all
well you are probally all wanting to know what the hell WCDM is and it is simple and nothing dirty i assure you lol. It is World Card Making Day. Allcraftz just put on the the days entertainment and specials which i am afraid missed most of. I did manage though to get some great stamps at a fantastic price. I am also going to get in and do the challenges hopefully and get them downloaded by midnight monday.

We went to the ceremony of the most beautiful wedding out. Miss Kimberly Bennett graces dance teacher got married in Anzac park yesterday and wanted all her girls there to realease balloons. The balloons were even heart shaped and gorgeous. Kimberly made the dress she wore and i must say it was bloody beautiful. i have never seen such a beautiful bunch of bridesmaids and flower girls. I will ask her next week if i can show one of the photos i took in here.

We also had a tripple birthday party at Beth and Petes. It was our friend Dicks birthday, plus a friend of Beths and Petes named Peter was having his birthday too and then Thomas turns 3 next weekend so they threw him in too. . There were 3 cakes one of which grace made and it was yummo. i feel full just thinking of the food we ate lol. I made Dick a kaiser clock for his pressie as he lives alone with his dog and we are like the only family he has now. I will try to pop a pic of it on here soon too.
